With back-to-school right around the corner, the Sac County Public Health office wants to ensure children are ready by providing free vaccines during the annual Back-to-School immunization event. Tomorrow (Thursday) evening from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Sac County Public Health offices in Sac City, eligible children with no insurance who are under-insured or on Medicaid or state insurance can receive free immunizations through the Vaccines for Children (VFC) program. Multiple other services will be provided during the event free of charge, including lead screening, car seat checks, and educational booths with resources from community partners. Individuals can also participate in the fun activities available like sidewalk chalk, games or purchase a meal from Flaco’s Tacos food truck.
