Main Street Coon Rapids will again honor the men and women who have or are currently serving in the U.S. Armed Forces by placing banners on the light poles downtown around the Veterans Day holiday. Since 2022, the city organization has provided this opportunity for community residents to honor their loved ones by purchasing a double-sided, 30 by 60 inches custom-made banner with an image of the honoree. The cost is $100 for each banner, which covers the purchase, installation, and maintenance, with the applicant receiving the banner once it’s taken down after Veterans Day. Only 25 banners are available for purchase and will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis. If interested, mail or deliver the order form, along with a high-resolution photo and payment, to Annie Rudolph at Coon Rapids Municipal Utilities by Aug. 16.
