City Of Manning Is Asking For Community Input On Projects For The Comprehensive Neighborhood Revitalization Plan

The City of Manning is asking for residents’ input to determine the project priorities for the City Park Neighborhood as part of the Comprehensive Neighborhood Revitalization Plan. Last spring, the city was awarded a Community Development Block grant from the Iowa Economic Development Authority (IEDA) to fund projects addressing issues or proposed updates, mainly to City Park, but includes the immediate surrounding area if there is a demand. With the grant funding, the city can improve roads, sidewalks, housing, water, sewer, and park infrastructure and construct new City Park amenities like multi-use fields, trails, or updated play equipment. City officials have been working with MSA Professional Services, a civil engineering company, for the past several months, collecting demographic data as part of the grant requirements, and are now ready for the next important step in the process. City Administrator Dawn Meyer says that with the feedback received from this survey, city officials will be able to address the wants and needs viewed as a priority for the residents of Manning, continuing their efforts for community improvement. A link to the survey has been included below.
