The Lake View Police Department has been approved to purchase a transcription software program to create documents from the audio recordings from the officers’ body cameras. At the city council meeting on Aug. 5, members approved the purchase of the Axon transcription software to be added to the department’s current contract with the company. City Administrator Theresa Pudenz says Axon is a renowned company providing equipment for police departments worldwide.
By adding the transcription software to the current contract, Pudenz says the police department will write records more efficiently.
Pudenz emphasizes that the automatic transcribing feature of the body camera videos will save valuable time for the Lake View Police Department, allowing them to focus on serving and protecting the city.
