Mat Rats Wrestling Club In Second Phase Of Project, A Wellness Center For Odebolt

Picture from Mat Rats Wrestling Club Facebook page

Next year, a community wellness center and weight-training facility will be available in the City of Odebolt. The Mat Rats Wrestling Club purchased the building previously serving as the old Odebolt Café from the Odebolt Creek Days Foundation, renovating it into a new wrestling facility. Wishing to serve more of the community, the organization continued to fundraise and seek out grant funding to turn the basement of the facility into a wellness center open to the public. The new Odebolt community center will have a large selection of equipment, including weights, treadmills, and stationary bikes, an open area for dance and other fitness classes, and a batting cage for softball/baseball training year-round. The main floor of the building has been renovated into a wrestling room, which will serve open-mat sessions for the Mat Rats and OABCIG High School wrestlers, which will be coming up later this fall. On behalf of the entire Mat Rats Wrestling Club organization, Jason and Beth Wulf and Colby and BriAnne Hemer, who have been spearheading this project, want to thank everyone for their continued support and all those who donated their time, skills, and money to make this facility possible. They also wish to extend a heartfelt appreciation to all the organizations that contributed grant funding, which helped complete the exterior and main floor renovations. The organization is still seeking funding to remodel the basement of the facility. Those interested in helping can send their donations to any one of the contact points included below.
