Iowa Fuel Report: Aug. 14, 2024

After several weeks of modest declines, fuel prices in Iowa ticked higher in this week’s report from the Iowa Department of Agriculture and AAA-Iowa. As of Wednesday, Aug. 14, the average price for a gallon of regular unleaded gasoline in the state was $3.26, up three cents from last week and 52 cents below prices from a year ago. The national average slid one cent to $3.45 per gallon. Iowa retail diesel prices held steady at $3.50 per gallon, compared to $4.13 last year. Local prices were 26 cents below the $3.76 national average. Wholesale ethanol was unchanged from $2.16, while natural gas prices at the Henry Hub reporting site rose 13 cents to $2.21 per MMBtu.
