CCSD Board Of Education Meeting For Last Time Before School Starts Back Up Next Week

The Carroll Community School District (CCSD) Board of Education will meet for the final time over the summer break this upcoming Monday, ensuring everything is ready for school to start back up again on Friday. The meeting convenes at 6:30 p.m. at the Carroll High School Media Center with a closed session per Iowa Code 21.5(1)i: to review or discuss records which are required or authorized by state or federal law to be kept confidential or to be kept confidential as a condition for that governmental body’s possession or continued receipt of federal funds. Following the closed session, the board members will view annual policy renewals and look at updates or new policies that must be implemented. The district has been selected to receive donations from five businesses and organizations in the local area. Superintendent Dr. Casey Berlau says High School Principal Kourtney Abbotts has worked with Planet Fitness and Verizon Wireless to donate incentives, specifically fitness memberships and technology devices for individuals awarded as student of the month.

The board will review and approve district and superintendent goals, review committees, and review handbooks for the next action items. Berlau says the board will also take the next step in constructing a new transportation facility.

Board members will also approve bonding and disclosure services for the financing of the transportation facility project. The final action items for the board to review and consider concern bonus pay for support personnel and teachers throughout the district.

Again, the CCSD Board of Education meets on Monday at 6:30 p.m. at the Carroll High School Media Center. All meetings, except the closed session, are open to the public, and everyone is welcome to attend.
