Local FFA Members Award Winners At The Iowa State Fair

With the 2024 Iowa State Fair officially over, local FFA members return home after a busy ten days to relax before the start of a new school year. Five FFA members from the surrounding area are bringing home an award for their prize-winning animal or project. Brooklyn Booth from IKM-Manning won reserve champion in the heavyweight division for her market lamb. Market swine, spotted market reserve champion, was awarded to Cale Niehaus of Lake View. For the FFA horse competition, Morgan Hansen from the IKM-Manning FFA chapter won Champion Trail Class, Reserve Champion English Pleasure, Reserve Champion Showing, and Champion English Equitation. Madison Higgins in the Greene County FFA took home Champion open walk/trot, champion junior western pleasure for age 2-3, and champion western type horse. The Equestrian Team award is given to the top ten FFA chapters, with Greene County as number two and IKM-Manning taking sixth place of 47. Carroll Area FFA was awarded a chapter award for the FFA farm crops division and photography. Kyra Wolterman of Carroll won first for color photography.
