Two Schaller Residents Taken Into Custody After Search Warrant Uncovers Marijuana Growing Operation In Basement

Two Schaller residents were taken into custody after law enforcement discovered a marijuana growing operation in the basement of a home. On Aug. 16, Sac County Deputies were executing a search warrant at 509 South Perth St., attempting to obtain evidence in an ongoing criminal mischief investigation. Household residents 42-year-old Keegan Cross and 65-year-old Glenda Turnquist were detained while deputies searched the residence. In the basement, deputies discovered over 40 marijuana plants in various stages, grow lights, ventilated grow tents, and other materials to produce and maintain marijuana plants. Cross and Turnquist were taken into custody with set bonds of $5,600 and $5,300 respectively. Both individuals face charges of manufacture of a controlled substance, marijuana under 50 kilograms, a Class D felony, possession of drug paraphernalia, a simple misdemeanor, and Cross is facing an additional charge of interference with official acts, a simple misdemeanor. Cross and Turnquist have previous convictions for controlled substance violations from previous search warrants at the same location in both 2017 and 2018. The Lake View Police Department assisted the Sac County Sheriff’s Office during this investigation.
