The sentencing hearing for a Carroll man arrested last October for sexual exploitation of a child and child pornography production has been delayed until later this fall. According to records from the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Iowa, 48-year-old Lucas Oliver Knowles was arrested at his Carroll home in the 600 block of McCoy Drive by local and federal law enforcement after an investigation found he had sexually abused a minor female victim on at least one occasion between July 1 and Oct. 2, 2023, received, stored, and created child sexual abuse material (CSAM), and possessed firearms as an admitted methamphetamine user. Knowles pled guilty to four felony counts in May and an order filed last week has moved his sentencing hearing to Oct. 11 at the federal courthouse in Sioux City. The charges carry a combined maximum sentence of over 100 years in prison if served consecutively. Knowles remains in custody at the Sioux County jail, where he has been held since last October, pending his sentencing.
