A section of Hawthorne Avenue south of U.S. Highway 30 in Carroll County is closing this (Wednesday) morning for scheduled road work. According to the Carroll County Secondary Roads Department, an approximately one-mile stretch of Hawthorne Avenue between 200th Street and 210th Street closes at 7 a.m. for pavement patching. The road will remain available for local traffic, but all other vehicles are asked to find alternate routes until the project concludes around 4:30 p.m. Thursday afternoon.
