The Greene County Community School District wants to ensure all students have a great start to each school day by providing breakfast at no charge for every student this upcoming school year. Through an application process, Greene County CSD was selected to receive funding through the School Breakfast Program, administered by the Iowa Department of Education and the Child Nutrition Program, to provide a free meal at the start of each day to every student, regardless of income. With the research proving that poor nutrition affects learning abilities, Greene County administration and staff are proud not only to provide at least one free meal to students but also to relieve a bit of a financial burden off families in the district.
