Carroll County Supervisors To Reschedule Maple River Rate Change Public Hearing At Monday’s Meeting

The Carroll County Board of Supervisors has a brief but dense agenda for Monday’s meeting. The board convenes at 9 a.m. on Aug. 26 at the courthouse in the supervisors’ meeting room. They’ll open with a review and approval of the latest payables before rescheduling the public hearing for an ordinance amendment to raise sewer rates for Maple River customers. County officials are raising rates from $55 per month to $75 per month to address financial sustainability issues with the system. The supervisors set a public hearing at last week’s meeting, but a date mix-up in the notification necessitates another motion. The board will likely schedule the public hearing for Monday, Sept. 9. Other items of note on Monday’s agenda include a vote for the Iowa Municipalities Workers’ Compensation Association (IMWCA) board of trustees, a Fiscal Year (FY) 2023 audit representation letter, a building management system for the county annex at the Fricke Building, and routine interfund transfer resolutions. The Monday, Aug. 26 meeting is open to the public and will be live-streamed via the county’s YouTube channel. Links to the agenda and video are included with this story on our website.
