Born on November 10, 1937 in rural Templeton, Earl was the son of John A. and Elizabeth (Uhlenkamp) Vogl.  He attended school in Templeton through the 8th grade and in 1977 received his General Educational Development Degree from DMACC in Carroll.  Earl proudly served in the Army National Guard from 1956-1962, earning awards in Marksmanship.

On June 9, 1958, Earl was united in marriage to Laurel Singsank in Manning, Iowa.  Together they had five children that they cherished.  The couple made their home north of Halbur where he was engaged in grain and livestock farming.  In 2016, they moved to Carroll.

His pride and joy were most definitely his family.  He enjoyed playing cards, camping, traveling, but his passion was farming.  Earl was Mr. Fix-It, always willing to lend a hand and help anyone in need.

Left to cherish his memory are his children: Randy (Maria) Vogl of Manitowoc, WI, Rhonda (Carl) Richards of Calamus, Rich (Joan) Vogl of Carroll, and Dr. Rod (Kim) Vogl of Memphis, TN; 11 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; his brother, John (Adella) Vogl; his sisters: Dorothy Danner, Mary Ann Kasperbauer, and Levan Eich; his sisters-in-law: Lorraine Vogl, Jean Singsank, Connie Singsank, and Cleo Hansen; as well as many nieces, nephews, other extended relatives and many friends.

Earl was preceded in death by his parents, John and Elizabeth Vogl; his wife Laurel in 2023; his parents-in-law, John and Jenny Singsank; his daughter in infancy, Theresa Lynne; his brothers, Leroy (Barb) Vogl, and Joe Vogl; his sister, Betty (Leo) Danner; his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Peter Danner, Norbert Kasperbauer, Mike Eich, Earl Singsank, Margaret (Russ) Popp, Della (Don) Berg, Glenn Singsank, Verna (Merlin) Hass, and Gary Hansen.
