The Audubon Country Players are rehearsing nearly every night, getting ready for their big production of the musical Hans Christian Andersen in mid-September. Every four years, local and surrounding community members join the group to prepare a musical for public viewing. Director Amy Ritter-Schulze says the group is super excited to bring something new for the community to enjoy.
Ritter-Schulze says only two productions of the musical have been performed worldwide over the last year. While the group may be named the Audubon Country Players, it is not strictly open only to residents of Audubon County.
Ritter-Schulze says rehearsals are well underway, sets are being painted, and everything is scheduled to be ready for the opening performances at the Audubon High School auditorium.
