Bailey took her battle to the next level on August 28th, 2024. After a long courageous battle with Malignant Peripheral Nerve Sheath Tumor Sarcoma, Bailey joined her mother in heaven to continue the fight.  Bailey was officially diagnosed in September of 2022.  She endured radiation treatments and two separate surgeries: one in December 2022 and March of 2023.  Having success, she was cancer free until February of 2024 when she was diagnosed with incurable tumors.  The doctors tried to slow the growth with low dose oral chemo only to find the cancer had become more aggressive on June 17th and spread rapidly.

Bailey was born on October 1, 2009 the daughter of Kraig and Renee (Schroeder) Lux at St Anthony Regional Hospital in Carroll.  She was the fourth of four children.  Bailey spent most of her early years chasing brothers and sister to ballparks, courts, and fields where she discovered a love for sports as her sibling’s biggest cheerleader. As her love for sports grew, she quickly became a Hawk fan like her family.  During her treatments and surgeries at the University of Iowa she quickly became a celebrity meeting many of the Hawkeye athletes growing her love for all things Hawkeye’s, but especially the Iowa Hawkeye Women’s Basketball Team.  In October of 2022, she participated in the The Wave, not as a recipient but as a well-wisher to the kids in their battles from the stands where she wanted to be.  Putting others first as she always had throughout her life. In 2024, Bailey was honored with the Carroll Area I-Club Hawk of The Year Award which she treasured.

Bailey was known for her smile and its ability to brighten dark moments.  Her smile was beautiful and often contagious.  If there was time you needed a smile you didn’t have to look further than Bailey.  A smile that was with her to the very end.

Bailey attended Kuemper Catholic Schools where she was active in the speech and drama club and was looking forward to following in her sister’s steps as a cheerleader. Bailey could not pick a favorite teacher or class as she enjoyed them all.  Her ambition was to become a Child Life Specialist at the University of Iowa where she could help kids with her experience.

Bailey is survived by her dad Kraig Lux and friend Jen Mcgee; her sister Brianna Lux and Fiancé Brandon Hansen; her brothers Brett Lux, and Blake Lux; her grandparents, Charlene Lux and Bob and Irene Schroeder; her aunts and uncles: Mark Schoeder, Greg (Kristi) Schroeder, Doug (Lynn) Schroeder, Michelle (Ross) Schuette, Tammy Blum, Karla (Kurt) Niemier, Kevin (Tami) Lux, and Kurt (Shanon) Lux; as well as other extended relatives and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Renee Lux; her, Grandfather Robert Lux; and an uncle Les Blum.
