Multiple agencies were dispatched early this (Thursday) morning to a structure fire in downtown Denison. The Denison, Manilla, Vail, and Dow City-Arion Fire Departments responded at approximately 1:09 a.m. to a reported fire in the Boysen Laundromat at 108 S. Main St. The call originated from a customer who called in after entering the building to find it full of smoke. Fortunately, the building was not fully engulfed when firefighters arrived on the scene, and crews were able to extinguish the blaze that is believed to have started in a back room. The fire’s cause remains under investigation. The Denison Police Department and Denison Municipal Utilities also assisted at the scene.
