Friendship Home In Audubon Wishing To Raise $500,000 To Continue To Serve Community

The Friendship Home in Audubon aims to raise $500,000 to continue the community nursing home operations and the only state-licensed childcare center in Audubon County. The Friendship Home is a local, non-profit, Christian-based nursing facility that assists 40 residents and employs 60 individuals. For the past 65 years, the long-term care has supported its mission, “caring for our residents in a Christian setting of compassion and choice,” by providing a secured memory unit, hospice, and intermediate, skilled, and personalized care. Financial setbacks of elevator repairs, HVAC system upgrades, and water heater and boiler replacements have contributed to the need to raise additional funds. The nursing home has initiated steps like updating policies, decreasing agency employees, increasing efforts in recruitment and retention, and cutting back expenses as much as possible to avoid further challenges. Aside from the nursing facility, the licensed daycare, The Children’s Nest, would have to shut down if the nursing home was no longer operational. The daycare center currently employs 13 members and has 35 children attend. Anyone wishing to help support The Friendship Home and The Children’s Nest can use the contact points included below. The Friendship Home Foundation, staff members, and residents extend their gratitude to those who have already contributed, helping to keep this facility open and available for the future.
