Authorities in Sac County have released the results of an autopsy conducted following the death of a Breda woman who crashed her car into the North Raccoon River earlier this summer. On July 19, the body of 30-year-old Samantha Faylee Trimpe was recovered by first responders from an overturned 2003 Jeep Cherokee in the river at Hagge Park. The Iowa State Medical Examiner’s Office returned their final report Tuesday, which attributed the cause of death to drowning, with acute intoxication due to the combined effects of alcohol, lorazepam, amphetamine, and fluoxetine listed as a significant contributing factor. The manner of death remains undetermined in the report due to difficulty determining the exact cause as to how the vehicle ended up in the river.
