5:00 p.m. Update: Phones have been restored

A state-wide phone outage is causing landlines to be unable to receive incoming calls from cell phones or long distances numbers. Aureon, the business solution provider that offers a variety of services including network and communications throughout Iowa, extending to Omaha, Neb., Minneapolis, Minn. and Kansas City Mo. has reported multiple customers are having landline issues when trying to receive a call from a mobile device.  Currently, the Aureon team is troubleshooting the issue to restore services to those affected. In the area, local providers include Corn Belt Telephone for Sac County, Coon Rapids Municipal Utilities, Marne Elk Horn serving southern Audubon County and more. IT support has indicated that the cause of the outage is still unknown, and there is no time estimate of when the issue will be resolved. Carroll Broadcasting will bring you updates on the phone outage as it becomes available.
