Local Representatives Leave For Nation’s Capital On 2024 CCGP Access Washington Trip

2023-Access-Washington

Local elected officials and business leaders are heading to our nation’s capital today (Tuesday) as part of the Carroll County Growth Partnership’s (CCGP) Access Washington trip. The purpose behind the annual visit is to have local voices bring essential issues for the area, from economic challenges to infrastructure concerns, directly to the policymakers and federal agency staff. Topics vary from year to year, but previous visits have notched some substantial wins, such as bringing increased scrutiny from the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) concerning conditions at the Fairview Village apartments, the Manning Municipal Utilities gas pipeline extension, and improved support for rural critical access hospitals. The 2024 Access Washington trip runs from Sept. 10 through Sept. 13 and includes work sessions with 4th District Representative Randy Feenstra, Senators Chuck Grassley and Joni Ernst, and various federal agency staffers. Carroll Broadcasting will bring you more from Access Washington participants in upcoming newscasts.
