In remembrance of 9/11, members of the Carroll Fire Department and St. Anthony Regional Hospital staff climbed the stairs of the hospital building to honor those lives lost. The participants walked up the four flights of stairs to the roof of the surgery center building, with Chaplain Angelo Luis reflecting the nearly 3,000 individuals killed during the attack, including first responders who faced the danger to save others. The Carroll Fire Department members were in their full gear, representing the 343 members of the Fire Department of the City of New York (FDNY) who stormed the stairs of the World Trade Center, paying the ultimate sacrifice. St. Anthony staff and the Carroll Fire Department partook in the unity tribute to stand together in memory and strength, never forgetting all the brave first responders’ courage and sacrifice from that Sept. 11 day, 23 years ago.
