Coon Rapids Residents Reminded To Remove Race Cars From Properties

Coon Rapids city officials want to remind residents they need to have their figure eight race cars removed from the property or stored away before the end of this weekend. With race season over, the city council will enforce ordinance 69.15 regarding off-street parking and storage of non-registered vehicles within the city limits. All cars used for the racing season must be removed from city limits or placed within a garage or shed by the following Monday to avoid being declared a nuisance. Residents who fail to obey the city ordinance are subject to a fine of $65 for the first offense and $100 for the second and subsequent offenses. This regulation not only ensures that no clutter prevents landowners and occupants from enjoying their property but is also a safety measure by not obstructing views of streets and does not negatively affect property values and neighborhood patterns. Anyone with additional questions is asked to contact Jess Leighty, city clerk, by calling 712-999-7749.
