The Hospice of the Midwest wants to thank the entire Carroll community for helping fill the New Opportunities food pantry shelves during last week’s food drive. Hospice of the Midwest staff held a “tailgate” theme drive, where food could be placed in either the Iowa State Cyclones or the Iowa Hawkeyes cart. Susie Kennebeck-Thelen, the hospice team’s community liaison, says she is very excited to announce that over $100 was donated in cash, and 189.5 pounds of food and personal items were contributed to their drive. For those who are curious, the food drive had the same outcome as the Cy-Hawk game last Saturday, with more donations being placed in the Iowa State Cyclones cart. Kennebeck-Thelen wants to thank everyone again who stopped by and donated to continue serving families who need assistance in the community.
