Iowa Fuel Report: Sept. 11, 2024

Gas prices crept closer to the three-dollar mark in this week’s report from the Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship (IDALS) and AAA-Iowa. As of Wednesday, Sept. 11, the average price for a gallon of regular unleaded gasoline in the state was $3.06, down five cents from last week and 88 cents below prices from a year ago. The national average on Wednesday was down seven cents to $3.25 per gallon. Retail diesel prices in Iowa fell five cents as well to $3.39 per gallon, compared to $4.26 per gallon in September 2023. The national average for diesel came in at $3.65 per gallon. Wholesale ethanol was unchanged from $2.16, while natural gas prices at the Henry Hub reporting site rose 13 cents to $2.32 per MMBtu.
