The Early and Nemaha American Legion Post has added a worn flag drop box to dispose of U.S. flags properly. Members of the Merton V. Hair Post of the American Legion and members from Early and Nemaha contributed funding for a disposal box outside of Early’s City Hall, where community members can bring their worn and tattered U.S flags for the legion members to take care of. Brad Thorpe, Commander for the Merton V. Hair Post of the American Legion, says, “The Legion is happy to provide this service for disposal of old, tattered U.S flags. I hope citizens will use this drop box for their flags in need of proper disposal per U.S flag etiquette standards.”
