Halloween is still more than six weeks away, but one local group—the Carroll County EMS Association — is already thinking about Christmas time. For decades, the association has hosted twinkling displays at Swan Lake State Park to get people into the Christmas spirit and raise funds to support the county’s first responder volunteers. Kristin Nehring, the group’s treasurer, says they are searching for area businesses or individuals willing to sponsor one of their many displays.
Each sponsor will have a sign placed next to their section of the light show thanking them for their support. The Festival of Lights has grown into one of the state’s most popular holiday lighting shows, and Nehring says sponsorships help keep everything in tip-top shape.
She adds that better lights and displays lead to more visitors, which means more money raised for the Carroll County EMS Association.
