CCSD Board Of Education Reviewed New Policy Impact, Approved Additional Extracurricular And More During Monday’s Meeting

CCSD-2

The Carroll Community School District (CCSD) Board of Education reviewed the impact of the no cell phone policy, transportation facility project bids, absenteeism policy updates in handbooks, and more during their meeting this (Monday) evening. The meeting opened with a presentation from High School Principal Kourtney Abbotts, Special Education Teacher Eric Nagl, and a few high school students to discuss the cell phone policy that was implemented this year and to ask for the board to consider a new extra-curricular activity of bowling for grades 9 through 12, which was approved. No comments were received during the public hearing regarding the plans and specs for the proposed transportation facility, but approving a bid from one of the six received was tabled due to a board member and the financial advisor being absent and to allow more time to review all proposed bids. The board approved a quote of $56,824 for two commercial-grade ovens at the high school and Fairview Elementary. The members finished the meeting by reviewing fiscal year (FY) 2024 annual settlements, approving a modified allowable growth and supplemental aid request for the special education fund deficit and FY24 transportation report.
