Margaret Heithoff of Templeton

Margaret Heithoff, 101 of Templeton, died early Saturday morning, September 14, 2024 at St. Anthony Nursing Home in Carroll.

Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, September 19, 2024 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Templeton.  The celebrant will be Fr. Terry Roder.  Concelebrant will be Fr. Merlin Schrad.  Music will be by Hannah Kerkhoff, Jane Heithoff, and the Templeton Men’s Choir.  Mass Servers will be Asher Wittrock and Felicity Morman.  Lectors will be Dave Dooley, Abbey Heithoff and Allison Heithoff.  Gift Bearers will be Margaret’s granddaughters: Traci Jones, Jenny Dooley, Sarah Ritchey, Andrea Schroeder, Allison Heithoff and Abbey Heithoff.  Casket Bearers will be Margaret’s grandsons: Jonathan Linn, Clint Heithoff, Josh Heithoff, Andrew Heithoff, Anthony Heithoff, Nick Ludwig, Scott Ludwig, Matt Wittrock and Ben Wittrock. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Templeton.

The visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. on Wednesday at the Sharp Funeral Home in Carroll with a rosary and time of sharing at 7 p.m.  The casket will be moved to Sacred Heart Church on Thursday morning where additional visitation will be from 9:30-10:15 a.m. prior to the Funeral Mass.

Margaret was born on August 11, 1923 to Joseph and Clara (Stable) Schaeuble on the family farm in Westside, Iowa. She was baptized and confirmed in St. John’s Catholic Church in Arcadia.

She spent her childhood in Arcadia attending St. John’s Catholic grade school and went to Sacred Heart High School in Templeton.  In 1943, she went to Kansas City to work at an ammunition plant for two years. She later worked at Young’s Cafe. She also worked at Garst in Coon Rapids.

On May 20, 1946, she married Eugene Heithoff at Sacred Heart Church in Templeton by Monsignor Huesmon.

Margaret was a dedicated housewife, raising six children. She enjoyed cooking, baking, canning, gardening, sewing, playing cards, bingo, gambling, and making all her grandchildren their favorite foods, including donuts and cookies.  Margaret was a member of the Sacred Heart Parish and Parish Ladies Guild.

Margaret is survived by her children: Bill (Deb) Heithoff of Osage Beach, MO., Mark Heithoff of Grimes, John (Jennifer) Heithoff of Omaha, NE., Gloria (Paul) Ludwig of Carroll , Paula (Alan) Wittrock of Breda; son-in-law Michael Linn; 15 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; her sisters Anna Mae Irlmeier and Judy Balk; her sister-in-laws and brothers-in-law: Delores Schaeuble, Norma Jean Schaeuble, Ernest Wehn, Edna Schrad and Bernice Halbur.

Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Clara Schaeuble; her parents-in-law, Joseph and Martha Heithoff; her husband, Eugene Heithoff; her daughter, Pat Linn; son, Randy Heithoff; son-in-law Keith Meiners, grandson, Ryan Heithoff; siblings and (spouses) John Schaeuble, Ray Schaeuble, Joe (Beverly) Schaeuble, Edward Schaeuble, Esther (Marvin) Heithoff, Marcia Wehn, Mary Kisgen, Madge (Don) Scott; her sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: William Lamden, Merlin Irlmeier,  Leroy Balk, Linus (Marge) Heithoff,  Virgil (Mildred) Heithoff, Bonita (John) Sporrer, Rita (Joseph) Simons, Ruth (Leroy) Brown, Edwin Halbur, Irene (Michael) Richter, Marcella Schrad, Joseph Heithoff, Jr.
