Two Area Schools Advance In Iowa Heathiest State Initiative Mascot Challenge

Two local schools are moving into the Elite Eight for the Iowa Healthiest State Initiative 2024 School Mascot Challenge. IKM-Manning Community School District (CSD) won against Prairie City Monroe (PCM) High School in the first round, beating Emerson Hough Elementary in the second. IKM-Manning now faces Adel DeSoto Minburn (ADM) CSD. Glidden-Ralston CSD started the bracket challenge out voting Diagonal High School and Riceville (CSD) and facing South Hardin High School. This round of voting ends on Friday, with the schools advancing to the next round announced on Sept. 23. The contest will end on Oct. 2 during the 14th Annual Healthiest State Walk. The winning school will receive $1,000 for health and wellness projects for the building. A link to the Iowa Healthiest State Initiative, which details how to vote, is included below.
