The Carroll Chamber of Commerce is closing the summer season this week with the final Live+Local concert of the year. The free concert begins at 6 p.m. Thursday, with Mighty Mayhem headlining the evening. Chamber staff invite locals to join them in the Depot Park southwest of downtown and remind them to bring their lawn chairs and coolers. They remind attendees that the event is cans only, as no glass containers or hard liquor is allowed. The first 100 concertgoers will get a special treat from the evening’s sponsor, Badding Construction, with free flavored ice from the Zambonie food truck. Thursday’s guests include appearances at 7 p.m. from area organizations’ mascots, including the Carroll Tigers, Carroll Merchants, Des Moines Area Community College (DMACC) Bears, Dr. Whoot from the Carroll Public Library, and the Kuemper Knights. The last 2024 Live+Local runs until 9 p.m. Thursday night.
