Fairview Elementary in Carroll was placed on a Secure status after noticing a suspicious individual was on and around the school property. According to an email that was sent to parents from school administrators, at around 9:58 a.m., all students and staff were secured into the building, with exterior doors being locked while the Carroll Police Department was notified. After responding, law enforcement gave the all clear around 10 minutes later. Classes were able to be continued without any interruptions inside the building and all school operations have returned back to normal. A secure action is called when there is a threat or hazard that is outside of the school building, using the physical facility as protection during that length of time. Any questions or concerns can be directed to Fairview Elementary Principal Sue Ruch at 712-792-8030.
