This past weekend, New Way Ford in Coon Rapids was able to raise close to $3,000 for the Coon Rapids Fire Department during the 9th annual Auto Show. There were 67 automobiles, with over half of the vehicles being older than 1980. The oldest at the show was a 1930 Ford Coupe. Various cars and trucks, from Chevrolets, Fords, Plymouths, and more were registered. $1,383 was raised in goodwill donations and raffle tickets, with New Way Ford matching the funds to be donated to the local fire department for equipment updates and to help offset any expenditures. Winners of the car show included Dealer’s Choice, Tom Moberg of Carroll for his 1953 Dodge M37; People’s Choice: third place, Ann Von Dielingen of Carroll for her 1961 Chrysler Imperial; second place- Charlie VanMeter of Guthrie Center for his 1957 Ford Custom; and first place going to Bill Riesselman of Halbur for his 1950 Willys.
