Kuemper Catholic Celebrates 150 Years Of Catholic Education In Carroll County

The Kuemper Catholic School System is celebrating 150 years of Catholic education in the Carroll area with a weekend of events. Festivities kick off this Friday with the Kuemper homecoming parade at 2:15 p.m., followed by a social at the Kuemper Fieldhouse after the football game, featuring alumni family histories, school memorabilia, and more. The celebration continues into Saturday with a fun run from Maple River to Carroll along the Sauk Rail Trail and a family picnic at Rolling Hills Park from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Kuemper closes the weekend’s activities on Sunday with a special bus tour of the original Catholic schools that established the area’s educational tradition, provided by Windstar Lines. The first Catholic school was established in the county in 1874 and has continued in some form for the last 150 years.
