Dustin Lynch and Jelly Roll reach No. 1 on Country Airplay with ‘Chevrolet’

Dustin Lynch has hit a career milestone with his tenth No. 1 on Billboard’s Country Airplay chart (dated Sept. 21) with the track “Chevrolet” featuring Jelly Roll.

“Chevrolet” is written by Chase McGill, Jessi Alexander, Hunter Phelps, and Mentor Williams, and features the throwback melody of the 1973 Dobie Gray hit “Drift Away.”  The original hit No. 5 on the Billboard Hot 100 hit in 1973.

Lynch shares of the track: “Reaching my tenth No. 1 is a milestone we are so proud of and grateful for. I feel extra blessed to be able to share this one with my buddy Jelly. This is a true testament to the overwhelming support from my fans who have become family over the past 12 years. Also, to my Broken Bow Records fam and Country radio friends, alongside my team, band, crew, and collaborators – I couldn’t have done any of this without y’all. You are the best of the best. Here’s to the next ten!”

Lynch also tells Billboard: “The response to this song has been absolutely wild to see in our live shows from way early on. This iconic melody from ‘Drift Away’ is deep within all of us, and connects us instantly for such an epic sing-along. There’s a nostalgia to it that just feels good, and it becoming my ninth No. 1 on Billboard’s Country Airplay chart means so much, especially since I get to celebrate this with my buddy Jelly. To the fans that have been on this crazy journey with me, this one is for you! Let’s keep riding y’all – I’m just getting started!”
