Main Street Manning And Manning Chamber Of Commerce To Merge Into One Organization

The new full-time director for Main Street Manning, Andrea Rohe, announces that they are merging Main Street Manning and the Manning Chamber of Commerce into one entity. Not only will the two organizations share a physical building space, but Rohe will serve as the director of both, making her the centralized contact person for individuals’ and businesses’ questions and needs. The merger will also increase the number of volunteers able to work for the collaboration and fundraising events of the joint organization, by eliminating duplications of community efforts. Manning is not the first city to pursue this option, as Jefferson also combined organizations previously for much of the same reason as Manning. By putting this in perspective, in 2023, Main Street Manning alone helped start six new businesses in the district, obtained over $500,000 in grant funding for the city with housing and façade projects, and had 50 active volunteers with a recorded 1,789 hours of service. Rohe wants to increase the number of volunteers and service hours by opening communication with both sides to understand goals and event success better. Rohe is also working to include school-age children in volunteering for community events. Anyone with additional questions or wanting to become more involved is asked to contact Rohe using the contact points included below.
