Western Iowa Advantage To Hold A Housing Summit In Calhoun County

Western Iowa Advantage invites elected officials, housing developers, and anyone interested in attending its annual summit this year, discussing ways to promote housing and create a foundation for community success. Western Iowa Advantage is an economic development group with representatives from Region XII Council of Governments and development partners from Audubon, Calhoun, Carroll, Crawford, Greene, Sac, and Ida counties. The organization collaborates to build strong local, regional, and statewide economies while promoting job creation and livability of the region. Sara Slater, Executive Director for Audubon County Economic Development (ACED) and Chair for Western Iowa Advantage says housing was picked this year due to the demand being seen regionally and nationwide.

Lunch is provided during the program, with Debi Durham, Director of the Iowa Economic Development Authority, and Iowa Finance Authority, as keynote speaker. Following lunch, Slater says the afternoon sessions will feature representatives from communities where success has been found and how they achieved it.

The summit will take place in Manson at Twin Lakes Christian Center (Twin Lakes Bible Camp) on Oct. 9 from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The Cost is $20, and a ticket must be purchased online to attend. A link to purchase a ticket has been included below. Slater says registration is due by this Friday, Oct. 4, and encourages all who are interested to sign up to participate.

Again, the Western Iowa Advantages annual summit, “Navigating the Waves of Housing Success,” will be on Wednesday, Oct. 9, and those interested must be registered by this Friday to be able to attend.
