60+ Entries Scheduled To Join 67th Annual Carroll Band Day Parade On Saturday

Carroll’s streets will be filled with music and floats this weekend with the  67th annual Carroll Band Day. The parade begins at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 5, at the corning of N. Adams Street and W. 12th Street. Carroll Chamber of Commerce Program Director Ashley Schable says they have over 60 parade entries scheduled to participate.

Schable adds they have seven bands lined up to participate in the parade, including Carroll, Kuemper Catholic, Greene County, Roland-Story, Glidden-Ralston, Boone, and Storm Lake. The 2024 Band Day route will again be slightly different from previous years due to road construction on the usual path.

The theme for this year’s Band Day is “From Music on our Streets to Dirt on our Cleats,” highlighting Carroll’s long-standing love of bands and baseball. Saturday’s forecast calls for sunny skies and highs in the 80s, which Schable says is about the nicest weather they could hope for on Band Day.

She adds the fun doesn’t end after the parade wraps up, as the bands will then head to the Carroll Athletic Stadium for the on-field performances.

Schable says a special thanks goes out to Band Day’s sponsors: Carroll Community School District, Kuemper Catholic School System, Windstar Express, and Western Iowa Networks. A map of Saturday’s parade route is included below.
