Audubon County has been placed in an open burn ban effective today (Tuesday) until further notice. Due to the dry and windy conditions, with little to no precipitation forecasted, it is favorable for fires to spread quickly. Such conditions make open burning extremely dangerous to life and to property. The ban has been placed in effect at 1:00 p.m. this (Tuesday) afternoon and will remain until land and weather conditions improve. Anyone caught in violation of this ban will be charged with a simple misdemeanor.
