The East Sac County (ESC) Dance Corps team held a “Fill the Truck Event,” collecting food items and donations for the East Sac County Food Pantry. On Friday, Sept. 20, during a home football game, ESC Dance Corps, under the direction of Connie Smith and Alycia Sporrer, asked attendees to contribute either a food or monetary donation to stock up the ESC Food Pantry to help assist the 98 families in the district that currently use the community service. The opposing team fans from Emmetsburg were also invited to contribute to the fundraising event and helped the event raise 375 food items and $896 in cash donations. The local Knights of Columbus also contributed an additional $100 from a program through the National Knights of Columbus for raising over $500. A late $4 donation brought the monetary contributions to a grand total of $1,000. The ESC Dance Corps team wants to thank everyone who brought in any donation to continue to assist local families in the ESC School District.
