A Gowrie man has been indicted on two felony charges for the murder of a Farnhamville teen. According to Calhoun County District Court records, 21-year-old Nathaniel Kyren Bevers-McGivney was taken into custody on Sept. 23 on the charges of first-degree murder, a class A felony, and abuse of a corpse- failure to disclose the known location, a class D felony, in connection to the death of 17-year-old Michele “Luna” Jackson. Authorities say the alleged murder occurred in Farnhamville City Park, and Bevers-McGivney used a knife to cut the girl’s throat with premeditation and specific intent to kill. Police allege Bevers-McGivney then moved the body in an attempt to conceal the crime. Bevers-McGivney is now being charged with murder in the first degree, a class A felony, and up the charge of abuse of a corpse to a class C felony for hiding or burying the body. His arraignment hearing has been scheduled for Oct. 11. Both charges carry a maximum penalty of life in prison without the possibility of parole.
