The Carroll Community School District (CCSD) Board of Education meets on Monday for their monthly work session. The meeting convenes at 6:30 p.m. at Adams Elementary School in the conference room. The board will review and discuss building-level goals and topics that they would like to see addressed by administrators during presentations and meetings. Members will review the Board Governance Plan that was established by the Iowa Association of School Boards (IASB). Superintendent Dr. Casey Berlau says the work session is also a perfect opportunity to review the new Area Education Agency (AEA) bill that was put into effect earlier this year.
The rest of the meeting will review and discuss administrators’ and directors’ employee benefits, update the curriculum budget after purchasing a new social studies curriculum for the middle and high school, and update the board on the process of having a student board member. Berlau says few students have applied for the position to represent and present views from students’ points of view on the school board.
Again, the CCSD Board of Education work session will be held this Monday at Adams Elementary starting at 6:30 p.m. Meetings are open to the public, and everyone is welcome and encouraged to attend.
