  Jerald “Jerry” Wilson Jr., age 87, of Glidden, IA, passed away on Monday, October 7, 2024 at his home in Glidden surrounded by his family.
    Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Monday, October 14, 2024 at the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Glidden with the Rev. Rick Hamilton officiating.  Casket bearers will be Robert Barker, Chad Grossman, Michael Wilson, Dustin Warnke, Drake Grossman, and John Eighmy. Burial will be in Merle Hay Memorial Cemetery in Glidden.
     Visitation will be held on Sunday from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. at the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Glidden. Visitation will resume on Monday morning from 9:30 A.M. until the time of the service at the funeral home.

     Jerry was born on November 25, 1936 in Council Bluffs, IA, and was the son of Jerald “Jerry” Sr. and Eleonora (Alt) Wilson.  He grew up in Council Bluffs and began working as a mechanic and driving truck right out of school.  He was united in marriage to Neva Smith on November 16, 1963 at the First Methodist Church in Nebraska City, NE. Jerry and Neva lived in Council Bluffs and several other locations before making Glidden their home in 1978. Jerry was employed by Crouse Cartage for over 30 years starting in Council Bluffs and moving with the company to Carroll.  He loved auto racing and building stock cars.  He also enjoyed watching westerns, sports, going to Bloomers, and most of all spending time with his family.
     Jerry is survived by his children: Rick Wilson (Robin) of Carroll, Randy Wilson (Kathy) of Council Bluffs, Jimmy Wilson (Kelly) of Waukee, Mark Wilson (Julie) of Audubon, Cheryl Wilson of Glidden, and Dean Wilson (Julian Sheldahl) of Ankeny; daughter-in-law Ruth Wilson of Cedar Rapids; 25 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; two sisters: Jeanne Rehfeldt of Council Bluffs and Pam Wilson of Council Bluffs; three brothers: Jim Wilson of Council Bluffs, John Wilson of Omaha, and Benny Wilson (Julie) of Lake City; a sister-in-law Jane Stangl (Jim) of Peoria, AZ; and many nieces, nephews, and other extended family members.
     Jerry was preceded in death by wife Neva Wilson in 2019; his parents Jerry and Eleonora Wilson; his in-laws Valley and Selma Smith; son Tim Wilson; granddaughter Trisha Eighmy; grandson Ricky Wilson; and a sister Connie Wilson.
