Lake View City Council Passes Ordinance Increasing Water And Sewer Rates

The Lake View City Council approved amending water and sewer rates for residents. The new ordinances were introduced back in August, increasing water rates by five percent and sewer three percent, with the final reading and passing of the ordinance at Monday’s city council meeting. Starting on their November bills, customers residing with in the city will see a charge of $16.48 for the first 2,000 gallons used, with $4.70 per 1000 gallons used after. Residents outside of the city using city services will be charged $24.69 for the first initial 2,000 gallons and $7.05 per 1000 gallons after that. A $1.50 meter charge per month will be billed to customers both inside and outside of city limits. Organizations and residents using bulk water will be charged $8.16 for the first 1,000 gallons and $10.14 per 1,000 gallons following that. The late penalty fee of $25 will be billed to customers with delinquent accounts and a $50 reconnection fee will be required to hook services back up. Sewer rates will be $31.57 for the first 2,000 gallons, and $8.96 per 1,000 gallons used proceeding the initial usage. Customers will be billed the minimum charge for the first 2,000 gallons, regardless of water or sewer usage.
