Rosy, as she was known by most, was born December 11, 1943 in La Crosse, WI. She was the daughter of Hugh and Mary (Norton) Shaw and grew up in Winona, MN, where she graduated from Cotter High School on June 8,1962. Joining her aunt Sister Norita Norton in Carroll, she graduated from the Antonian School of Practical Nursing in Carroll, IA on September 14, 1963. Rosy was united in marriage to Wayne Eich on September 10, 1966 and from this union two daughters were born.
Upon graduation from nursing school, Rosy’s employment began at St. Anthony’s Regional Hospital and eventually led her to a long career at the Carroll Heath Center nursing home. During her time at the Health Center, she met many co-workers who became her life-long friends. Rosy loved playing games and cards, and particularly enjoyed Card Club with her work friends. Family meant everything to Rosy, and she loved her trips with her sisters and family reunions. The Shaw family reunion was always a highlight of her summer, where all her siblings and their families got together. In her spare time, Rosy enjoyed knitting, sewing, and crafting. Rosy was an avid reader and loved trading books with her family. She also enjoyed attending her grandchildren’s sporting events and activities.
Rosy is survived by her two daughters and their families: Faye Halbur (Rod) of Halbur and Mary Hickethier (David) of Plover, WI; five grandchildren: Ross Halbur (Mara), Chris Halbur (Sam), Cole Halbur (Grace), Emory Hickethier and Jacob Hickethier; six great-grandchildren: Scarlett, Oaklynn, Roy, Krew, Daisy and a little one due in December; two sisters: Clare Malmin (Larry) of Minnetonka, MN and Bev Cashman of Owatonna, MN; two brothers: Mark Shaw (Patty) of Northfield, MN and Mike Shaw (Deanne) of Owatonna, MN; numerous nieces, nephews, and other extended family members.
Rosy was preceded in death by her parents and three sisters: Carol Holy, Rita Weinmann (Don), and Judy Renze (Loren).
The family would like to thank the staff at St. Anthony’s Regional Hospital, St. Anthony Nursing Home, and St. Anthony Hospice for their expert care and kindness.  We would also like to thank the Antonian Nurses and the Calhoun County Nurse’s Association for honoring Rosy’s career as a nurse.
