An Omaha man died over the weekend in Sac County after his semi-tractor trailer rolled into a field southwest of Odebolt. According to the Sac County Sheriff’s Office, first responders were dispatched at approximately 5:30 a.m. on Saturday to the scene north of the 360th Street and Cory Avenue intersection. Upon arrival, law enforcement located a 2025 Volvo semi-tractor in a field off the west ditch, and the driver, identified as 29-year-old Bryan Jeff Pubien of Omaha, deceased inside the cab. The initial investigation found Pubien had been traveling north on Cory Avenue when he lost control after crossing 360th Street, where the pavement transitions to gravel. The truck entered the ditch and rolled several times before coming to rest on its passenger side in a harvested cornfield. Authorities say Pubien was not wearing a seatbelt when the crash occurred. GPS information obtained from the vehicle shows the accident happened at approximately 2:37 a.m. His body has been transported to the State Medical Examiner’s Office in Ankeny for autopsy. The Odebolt Fire Department and Sac County Emergency Medical Services assisted the Sac County Sheriff’s Office at the scene.
