The Manning Rotary hits a record number of sponsors and contributes over $8,600 during their 2024 Pack the Pantry. On Oct. 2, 27 teams competed in a shopping challenge, attempting to purchase as close to $250 in groceries from the Carroll Fareway to fill the pantry shelves. The winning team was sponsored by Bev Ahrenholtz and Patti Muhlbauer, who were just cents from the goal. A special thank you goes to Bill Langel with the Knights of Columbus, who ignored the guideline and purchased over $1,800 worth of groceries to aid families in need. Over the past seven years, the Manning Rotary’s Pack the Pantry events have purchased over $37,000 of goods to help 15-20 households access food and other needs each month. Organizers for the event wish to extend their appreciation to all the team sponsors for their contributions.
