Court-generic

An Exira woman has been ordered to serve five years of probation by a federal court for purchasing a firearm for her felon boyfriend. Twenty-four-year-old Leslie Nicole Moton, also known as Leslie Caniglia, was sentenced on Oct. 10 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Iowa. According to prosecutors, Moton purchased a handgun in August 2023 for her boyfriend, Rey Moton, despite knowing he was a felon. Rey Moton was later charged and sentenced in March 2024 to 63 months in prison for being a felon in possession of a firearm. He will also serve three years of supervised release. Leslie Moton received a five-year probation sentence.
