A missing Story County teen was located in Carroll yesterday (Wednesday) following his and another teen’s arrest for shoplifting. According to the Carroll Police Department, law enforcement received a theft report in the 900 block of W. Highway 30, which led to the arrest of a 16-year-old male and a 17-year-old male in the 19000 block of Kittyhawk Avenue. Officers determined the teens had taken approximately $43 worth of merchandise from the Carroll Hy-Vee, and further investigation revealed the 17-year-old had previously been listed as a missing person from Story County. The 16-year-old was also taken into custody on an outstanding Carroll County warrant for obstructing a court order and was held in juvenile detention. The 17-year-old was returned to family. Charges will be forwarded to the juvenile courts for processing.
