Texas Man Arrested Sunday Morning On Outstanding Murder Warrant Near Pomeroy After Two Years On The Run

A Texas man on the run for over two years for allegedly killing his brother was taken into custody this weekend in Calhoun County. According to the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office, the fugitive, identified as 39-year-old Kyle Andrew Coolack of Houston, Texas, was arrested Sunday morning while walking south on Highway 4 south of Pomeroy. Dispatch was notified at approximately 7:14 a.m. by a Pomeroy resident that he had kicked Coolack out of his home after admitting he had been on the run for more than two years for murdering his brother. Officials located Coolack at approximately 7:33 a.m., and he first provided a false name to law enforcement. Additional investigation led to his positive identification, and he was arrested after deputies confirmed a warrant issued by the Houston Police Department on July 15, 2022, for fatally shooting his younger brother. Coolack was transported to the Carroll County jail, where he is awaiting extradition back to Texas.
